What is one evidence that a religion may be false?
Whoever the real author of creation is, he obviously existed prior to creation. I further presume that proper and highest form of honor and worship would be directly to the Creator God himself, not just His created products or His creatures.
Therefore those religions that give primary obeisance and worship to post-creation objects are not in touch with the author Himself. Worship to wooden idols made of tree trunks, rivers or stars is not worshiping the true Creator. Worshipping mere objects detracts from His glory. Such tree trunk religions are only honoring objects, products. Perhaps they lack the bigger picture of reality, God Himself! Why are they not praising, glorifying the Lord of creation?
Therefore I doubt that idol-worshipping religions were around from the beginning. They do not worship the true author of life, the one creator. I see them as questionable, aftermarket, tree trunk, false religions. Hinduism, Buddhism, animism worship idols, to name three.
“For by Him [Christ Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible . . . and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.” (Col 1.16-17)
