Why Do The Greek Gods Remain Popular?: 3 Possibilities

We hear the names of Atlas, Nike and Zeus. I have a theory as to why the ancient, mythical Greek gods remain so popular today.

  •  They allow the mouth though not the sinner’s heart to  acknowledge that God exists.
  • Greek gods are symbol without substance. They are more for show. Not being real, there is no obligation to obey them nor any real judgements to fear for sins committed. Like Santa Claus, they might offer some entertainment value or good vibes without requiring any commitment.
  • They are a way for the ultimate deceiver and counterfeiter, Satan to distract seekers away from the true God of the Bible who offers forgiveness for sin and eternal life.

You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Exod 20.3 NAS).
