The 700 Club recently did an interview with Angela Zatopek. She is the 25-year-old virgin that won the NBC “Ready For Love” contest. This now cancelled program offered a bank CEO, Ben Patton, 36 girls to choose between. He chose the only virgin among them, Angela Zatopek!
During the show, Angelia’s dating coach advised her that Ben wanted a modern woman (not a virgin). She retained her core values. She still won. After a year the couple decided that marriage was not for them after all. I do not know if Ben is saved or not but we know that Christians are not to be mismated with unbelievers – 2 Cor 6.14-17; 1 Cor 15.33; Psa 1.1-2; Prov 7.
“Flee immorality.” (1 Cor 6.18 NAS) (Heb 13.4).
Angela became a Christian at age 16. She apparently made a strong commitment to Jesus Christ. At this TV show a 12-year-old girl broke through the security line and talked to Angela. She spoke of the pressure she faced from her friends and said that she wanted to be like Angela. Wow. Kids like this long for godly role models!! What an opportunity to speak to young people she has! She, like Tim Tebow, have been given wonderful open doors of ministry. Pray that they will use them not just chase glitz and glam.
Seek a ministry not a career. Find something that no one else is doing. No need to wait in line in this hurting, bleeding world. There are needs everywhere.
Angela, from Austin Texas, seeks a career in the entertainment industry. If she means Hollywood it is controlled by the world, flesh and the devil. I cannot get excited about any one entering this snake den. Compromise is built-in. Why work to promote the enemy’s lies? Wise sheep do not hang out with wolves. . . . smoking, drugs, deceivers, cursing. It was said that Christian singer/actor Pat Boone was blacklisted years ago in Hollywood. Who needs the pain? Beware of pride. What clean,Christian actors can you name?
“You cannot get some one out of the ditch by getting down in the ditch with them.” -L Roloff.
Angela has a line of jewelry, the One Love Collection. Her jewelry evidently is a way to proclaim her commitment to wait for her one love, her future husband, whoever it is. Would you suppose that a guy or girl who had the commitment to keep themself pure for marriage would also be more likely to maintain a strong commitment after marriage?
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jer 29.13 NAS).
“And she caught him [Joseph] by his garment, saying, “Lie with me!” And he left his garment in her hand and fled, and went outside.” (Gen 39.12 NAS).
