Don’t Forget To Sing

How often do you sing? Do you see it as a valuable tool, a resource of strength? The Bible does. Praise, worshipful songs can bless us as well as God. I see singing powerful praise songs to Jesus linked to joy, blessing, boldness and freedom in the Spirit. It’s a package deal!

Music is important to me. Most days I sing and play music.  Without music the engine is missing a spark plug.

“Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name . . ” (Psa 96.1-2a NAS).

Music can bless us as we bless God by praising Him! It’s reciprocal. The downtrodden heart can be instantly lifted up by uplifting songs. As we uplift songs to God He in turn uplifts a sad spirit.

It is no wonder that many opting to remains outside God’s happy family often look overly grim and gloomy. This need not be! How wonderful to get in the practice of singing our favorite, tender or joyful songs. The world sings the blues. Without Jesus of course one is blue. I choose the Good News over the blues!

Try it. See if joyful singing does not lift your spirits too. Let me know what  your experience is.

“the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Neh 8.10 NAS).
