In talking with atheists and skeptics one question repeatedly arises, “Why is there evil if God is good and in control?” In his Focus on the Family, Truth Project messages, Dell Tackett suggests this reply: “Why should evil bother you?”
We remember that the one who denies God’s existence is also removing the Judge, the lawgiver. All ‘speed limits’ are gone as there is no one to make and maintain them. Thus there can be no good and evil in the world of the atheist. He cannot have it both ways, not really. If God does not exist where does good and evil come from? Thus man would be reduced to his personal opinions or the strong overpowering the weak. And even thinning out the weaker “animals” is what Darwinian theory suggests – survival of the fittest.
Atheistic evolutionists should oppose charity, government grants and welfare. Why maintain the weaker, helpless animals? Hungry lions show no love or compassion towards their prey. Thus atheism is often inconsistent. Who can function this far from reality and have something approaching a healthy life with other people? One likely end game here would be a heartless dictatorship. Perhaps North Korea’s dictatorship should be the poster child for atheistic Darwinism.
Man was created to love people. We need to love and be loved. Who wants to be lonely? Atheism flees from reality in a vain attempt to escape an all-wise, all present, all-knowing Creator God.
“Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.” (Isa 41.27-29 NAS).
“The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”” (Psa 16.1 NAS).
