Joy is a daily choice

“The first order of business each day is to get my soul happy in God.” – George Mueller as quoted by Harold Vaughn..

Why can be be so hard to choose joy just when I know I need it? Our flesh is strong. We are but clay vessels. Joy is a choice, a daily decision. We cannot always choose our circumstances but we can choose our reaction to them.

It is not always easy to have a joyful attitude. Our old nature, our flesh, the world and the Devil oppose joy. Joy can be snubbing the Devil after receiving some hard hit from life. Our mind can and should discern when our flesh is resisting our soul’s effort to sing, shout and become more joyful in the Lord. Live large.

“the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Neh 8.10).

Joyful singing or claiming a Bible promise can promptly change the atmosphere in my soul. Turn it loose! Let it out! Live large. Joy, praise, shouts, boldness, witnessing all walk together!

“Jesus,  fill me with your Spirit today. Give me ministry boldness and joy! I want to proclaim salvation to hurting souls. Filling is not about my ‘feeling good,’ but imparting truth in power! Unlock my spontaneity. Release me from what others may think of me. Overcome my fears. Live through me. Use me to glorify You! Empower me with joy, praise, boldness to exalt the King of Kings.”

“O come let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” (Psa 95.1).

“Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day.” (Psa 96.2).
