I can’t believe that God plays dice with the universe. – Albert Einstein.
There was a young lady named Bright,
That traveled far faster than light.
She left one day in a relative way,
and returned home the previous night. – Science Channel
I like to stop by the Science Channel, including “Through the Worm Hole” with Morgan Freeman. I am intrigued with the planets and galaxies. The physicists and cosmologists seem fixated on travel into deep space and time travel. Yet they reluctantly conclude that time travel must be left for a more intelligent civilization than ours to accomplish.
Praise God, He does have more intelligence that mere mortals! Interestingly both deep space and time travel both occur in the Bible. How blind some are. Moving around the universe from earth to heaven and back is done several times in the Bible, OT and NT. Enoch and Elijah were caught up into heaven — Gen 5.24; 2 Kng 2.1-15. Paul visited heaven. Widespread space travel will occur when all the saints are caught up in the air at the rapture of the church — 1 Thes 4.16-18. And when we die.
At Jesus’ Second Coming the saints will travel with Jesus from heaven to earth — Rev 19.14.
Time travel also occurs in the Bible. Two Old Testament characters, Moses and Elijah, appeared in the New Testament with Jesus — Luke 9.28-31. Directly or indirectly, they traveled hundreds of years to the future.
Then we find time travel by multitudes of people at the Great White Throne Judgment. The bodies of those missing the first resurrection, the Rapture of the Church, will be put back together and judged — Rev 20.13ff. Indeed this time travel, this judgment before Jesus Christ, will be mandatory. No one will call in sick. No one will say, “religion does not interest me.” There will be no empty seats. Secularists miss out on so much. It is sad to see people starving to death outside a free church picnic which they refuse to attend.
